Wireless Network help please

I have PCI wireless D-Link DWL-G510 Network card on a PC using windows XP
Pro my processor is P4 2.5GHz and 256 RAM and the other PC is a notebook HP
dv-4000 has a wireless card Intel Pro 2200BG with Windows XP Home Edition
after I installed the D-link PCI card on the PC and I installed the network
SSID and ad-hoc I did the same thing on the Notebook but no wireless found
in range but the 2 computers beside each other so please how can I solve
this problem.

Make sure that the physical Wireless Switch is On in the Laptop.
Make sure that you Networks settings are actually configured correctly on
