Hello!

I realize this is probably a really stupid question...but I recently
purchased an HP Pavilion Laptop, on which I'm running Win XP SP2 (In some
places it says I'm running WinXP Media Center Edition, in others it says Win
XP Pro - but that's another issue . A few weeks ago, I updated the driver
for my wireless adapter; now, when I open Network Connections, "Wireless
Network Connection" has been renamed "Wireless Connection 2." It's driving me
nuts! I know I can re-name the connection, I'm just wondering if anyone knows
a reason why that happened. I'm probably a bit overly paranoid about it too
because I downloaded the RootkitRevealer tool and it seems to have found
evidence of rootkits...Anyhow, your insight is appreciated. Thanks!

Hi
This is Normal (nothing wrong, or dangerous) and you would have to live with
it.
Getting rid of the Number 2 involves elaborate (risky) process, or
reinstalling the OS.
