Wireless Network Card Problem

Greetings, group.

I have an Inspiron 1100: (2.4GHz Celeron, 256Mb, 30Gb). Added a D-Link
DWL-G650 Wireless Network Card, and now the system is very jerky.

Everything pauses for a second or two when the card is plugged in.

I've tried a totally clean install (WinXP Pro), but no luck - it's fine
until the drivers are installed for the card.

Tried the latest drivers from D-Link's website, but no change. All other
drivers are correctly installed. (Graphics, Chipset, Modem, NIC, Sound).

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers,
Dave

Maybe there is something in there that may help you.

Hi Dave,

Thanks very much for the link, looks like I'm not the only one...

Oddly enough, it seems that downloading the drivers from D-Link's website
still results in problems. However, installing the "WPA Supplicant" from the
CD prior to installing the drivers appears to fix it. I'm mid-way thru a
clean install again, so I'm gonna try the WPA Supplicant, followed by the
latest drivers...

Thanks again!

Regards,
Dave
