Wireless Modem Card?

Someone just gave me a Motorola 100D "Personal Messenger" Wireless
Modem Card. The original documentation (For Windows 3.1, of course)
seems to indicate that the card is only good with a rather expensive
wireless service, which is probably long ago defunct. What I'm
wondering is, has anyone found a use for this card, or know of any
services where I might be able to hook in and use it under Linux?

(From its vintage, I'm guessing that it works over a analog signal,
since it doesn't look like it goes more than 19.2KB even under the best
circumstances. Still, it would be interesing to see if there was some
way to get it to work, without having to spend hundreds of dollars a
month, just to get email....)
