wireless logon to domain problem

I have a laptop I want users to log into the domain with, but the wireless
doesn't seem to want to "always be on" while someone else logs off so they
can't connect to the domain. I can only go on locally on the laptop and
thent he wireless starts up, but I can't get any domain logon's unless I go
with cat5.

Any ideas on how to get the wireless to always be on and connected between
logon's and logoff's?

Thanks for any info on this.

Bryce.

Are you using Windows XP with Sp2, I think you use vendor wifi profile
manager, please uninstall this manager, and use Windows XP SP2 default
windows wifi manager,

Hello,

I am having the same problem. However, I am using the XP SP2 default
wireless manager, not the vendor provided one (Intel PRO Wireless 2915 WLAN
(802.11a/b/g)). It seems that Windows does not select a access point until
the a user has logged in. And then appears to use the users preference in
selecting the AP. Therefore the system can not log a user on to the domain
unless the credentials are cached already... This is no good for new users
since an admin must first create a local account to even allow them to log
on for the first time
Is there a way to maybe create a policy that tells the "System" to select a
predefined AP as the default? Ok, If the laptop is away from the office then
fine it will use cached info.

Help!

Thanks.

I had the same problem before and I used a third part program, before a user
logs on, this program was making a connection by wireless ethernet card, or
you can use your ethernet card's Vendor Program, For Intel Pro Wireless
Cards, it has a condition at custom setup, you can select the component and
so you can have a small add on that gives you Single sign on, with this
property you dont need to log on to reach the network, your computer will
get an active connection and IP addres thanks to your ethernet card's vendor
Program,

With this program, you can use more than wireless profiles for different
users..

Or you can make a small batch file that starts Wireless Zero Configuration
Service and you must add this batch file to start up scripts by Local
Computer Policy (Not to Log on script)

Good luck
