ok.. so i have a wikreless PCI card and its working fine
(Iie i have a strong signal from the router) but i don't
think my computer reconizes the newly installed adapter as
its way of connecting to the internet (or the network for
that matter) it might also help to mention that i had a
ethernet (hardwire) card in there before, and i
uninstalled it because i thought it was causing the
conflict...please help with any ideas

reboot in safe mode and uninstall network adapters (your old one is probably
still in there)

then reinstall your nic
