hi,

I am due to get broadband installed early next year. Does anyone have any
recommendations on a PCMCIA card to work with my oldish laptop and the BT
wireless modem router that I am getting free (model 2091 I think). I had
spotted a D-Link DWL-G650 at a decent price, will this work? Thanks in
advance

Kind Regards, Steven

Whilst for familiarity staying with similar brands is an advantage I
have Linksys, Netgear, Broadcom and a Dell branded WiFi card all
working fine.

Depending on the age of your laptop, you might have some issues with modern
Cardbus adapters on old PCMCIA slots. Some of these issues can be corrected
in th laptop BIOS, but other not, as I found out when a customer recently
tried installing such a card on an older laptop. The PCMCIA slot would only
accept older technology cards. I supose it depends on what you call
'oldish'.
