Wireless LAN problems

I have a wireless network using a Linksys router/hub. A desktop PC
running W2K and 2 laptops running W98. The desktop is hard-wired into
the hub and the laptops are wireless. All three machines can see the
internet fine.
The problem I'm having is file sharing/printer sharing. The W2k
machine knows the laptops are in the neighbourhood, the laptops don't
know about the network. I have played with so many settings that I
don't know what to look for next.
W2K is set up with windows networking, should I be using the family
network?
W2K is set up as a small business without a domain.
All three machines are in the same workgroup.
I need some definite settings, I seem to have looked at so many!
Any help would be appreciated

Do the laptops see each other? If the desktop has got some firewall
protection then that may keep away the other computers from sharing its
resources.
