Wireless kit required

Can anyone advise as to what would be the best Wireless kit for networking
two laptops, I currently use NTL Broadband (150kbs service).

Can I suggest you repost your question to a UK group,
uk.telecom broadband
or
uk.comp.home-networking

This is an international group (mainly US)
And I doubt the guys here even know that NTL is cable
