Wireless inacive on boot

I am using CentOS 5 on a laptop with a wireless router. I have set the
wireless card to be active when the computer starts up through System ->
Administration -> Network.

When the system is starting up I can see that it does activate the
wireless card. When I logon and the latop gets to the network the card is
not active. I have to activate the card every time.

Does anyone have any idea as to how I can get the card to be active on
startup as it is a bit of PITA. Thanks.
