wireless homenetwork laptop shutdown

I recently installed a wireless network on my Compaq
presario laptop computer. Everything works fine but when I
try to shutdown, the system reboots by itself. I am using
Windows 98 and I heard there is a patch to fix this
problems.
Any suggestions?
