Hi,

I heard that the phones mobiles GSM antennas area dangerous to human health
because of radiations, may cause cancer.

I am thinking to mount an directional wireless antenna in my bed room,
8.5dBi, and I'm worried about radiations.

Area antennas dangerous can I keep them in my bed room where I sleep ?

Every large study so far has found no effect.
The power emitted by a accesspoint is some hundreds of times weaker
than that from a mobile phone, as it's so much further from the
body.
Plus it's a lower power.

With your directional antenna near a window, aimed outside, and you behind
it, the signal level your exposed to would be minimal, and nothing to worry
about.

you can ensure your health however by lining your room with baco-foil. Cover
the windows with fne steel mesh and you should be OK

Antennas in the bedroom can be very dangerous.

If you were to mount a six foot solid dish above your bed and it fell
on you it could kill you!!!

The health effects of RF exposure have not been determined with all
bands and power output levels. As the signal increases in power the
chance for problems likely increases as well. That said a 802.11
access point has about 100 mwatts of power maximum and a 8.5 dBi gain
antenna makes the signal less then 1 watt ERP. A one watt signal is
very small and likely causes no trouble under normal circumstances. If
you have the antenna positioned so that it is several inches away from
your head all night long for several years then you will probably
develope a brain tumor sometime in your life. But likely you would
deserve it as well.
