Wireless-G Signal Booster?

Can someone please explain to me why the Linksys WSB24 is not
recommended on anything other than the BEFW11S4 or the WAP11? Is there
any reason why it cannot be used, say, on the WRT54G, for example?
Also, where is the Wireless-G equivalent, then? Amazon.com lists the
Linksys WSB54G, but they're out of stock or it's on back-order, other
sites list it but seem to pull their content from Amazon, and Linksys
has NO information on it on their website. Is this a real product? If
not, is anyone making a Wireless-G equivalent - or is the way to
expand a Wireless-G network by using additional access points - or
hacking the firmware to boost the signal - or using additional add-on
antennas?

Probably because of FCC regulations -- FCC regulations only allow
antenna that have been specifically tested in combination with the
transmitter. WSB24 likely hasn't passed those tests quite yet...
takes time and money.

Those methods will all work. Also, Linksys has just added the
ability for a WAP54G access point to act as a repeater for a WRT54G
router. This cuts throughput in half, of course, unlike the things
you mention.
