Hi, I have the new Wireless-G adapter, my question is how
to get it to connect at the advertised 54 mbps? Mine
usually connects at 24 mbps. Is there anyway way of
making it connect at the 54 mbps?? Thank you, i
appriciate any help.

Hi,

The speed will depend on how far you are away from the access point, as well
as any interference and the quality of the wireless signal.

If you're closer to the Access point you'll be able to get closer to 54mbps.

Dear Jonny,

Just to add one comment to what Gary said...

One thing I've noticed is the reported rate (24, 36, 48,
54 Mbps seems particularly popular in MBNU) is not
necessarily the true transfer rate. When my connection
is idle, it usually report 24 Mps, but as soon as a file
transfer is initiated, this reported rate shoots upto the
maximum of 54 Mbps.

Check the difference in your idle rate and your active
rate.

Good Luck!
