802.11B's 'speed' is 11MB/sec while 802.11G's 'speed' is 54MB/sec (at least
theoretically); your home user cable/whatever Internet connection is
4-5MB/sec - it might be 1-2 more MBs more MBs for premium subscribers. You
would need the extra bandwidth of 802.11G if you have more computers
connected via the Linksys router - your Internet bandwidth will be split
among clients (computers) as well, though.
You are right, no significant Internet 'speed' whatsoever.
