I am trying to get a wireless enabled workstation to log on (join) to a
domain, yet after the "welcome to the...domain etc.," I cannot log in to the
domain or locally to the PC either. I can understand not being able to log
on to the domain if the wireless drivers haven't been loaded at this time,
but why can I not log in locally with either username or as administrator.
To regain access, I had to hard wire it into the network, log in (worked
fine) and put it back into the workgroup.
Is it not possible to have a wireless w/s on a domain?

TIA
TWK

hi,
it is possible to have wireless on domain. Before you logon(on press
ctrl-alt-del screen) you have to wait about 5 seconds until the wireless
driver is enabled.
Do you have some security enabled on wireless connections?

Hello Dragos,

I did have security but I disabled it prior to connecting to the domain.
What I don't understand is why I was unable to log on locally. I could only
do this when I hard wired the workstation.

Many thanks for your reply

hi,
check on local policies\security configuration or on GPO
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local
Policies\Security Options\ "Number of previous logons to cache" if it's 0
then will not be able to logon in case of domain controller isn' available.

and of course you have to logon once to have the user credentials on cache.
