: Yes

: Easiest way probably requires some outlay on hardware though (without
: knowing exactly what kit you've got):
:
: 1. ADSL modem / router / WAP (can be all in one - you're probably going to
: be buying that anyway by the sound of it)
: 2. PS2 broadband network adaptor
: 3. Wireless bridge (which the ps2 plugs into) e.g Netgear ME-101

: Typical hardware and set-up examples can be seen at
:
http://www.netgear.co.uk/ though other people may steer you away from
: Netgear.

: All I would say is to check out whether the type of (or specific) games
you

:
: I'm sure far more knowledgable people can offer advice, and there probbaly
: plenty of alternatives, but I have been using the following set-up for a
: while with no problems (as part of the ps2 networking beta trial and with
: other games):
:
: Netgear DG-814 (modem / router)
: Netgear WG-602 (WAP)
: Netgear ME-101 (wireless bridge)
: (and a Netgear WG-511 for laptop connections and a WG-311 PCI card on my
: desktop PC).
: ISP - Pipex 1Mb ADSL

Thanks SAW. From the Netgear site, I saw the DG834G ADSL access point (abt
£120), the ME101 bridge (abt £50) and Amazon have the PS2 network adapters
for £20. I've never heard of the PS2 adapters so that was quite
interesting... Though it doesn't look like there are many compatible games
yet - amazingly. (I want GT3, but it looks like I'll have to wait for GT4,
or sell the lot and go for X-Box...)
I have also seen that there are a lot of cheaper alternatives to the DG834G,
and you mention that some would steer clear of Netgear. Hmm. A quick look
through these posts shows that a Vigor 2600 is highly rated - though I've
never heard of Vigor! I'll have to have a search...
Anyway, many thanks, SAW. Some helpful information there,
Cheers,
Chris
