Hi all,
I am running XP on a new compaq nc 6000 laptop, complete with an
intergrated wireless card.

The router is a Netgear MR314.

I have service pack 1 form XP

Any ideas on how to get this working...driving me insame.

First, make sure you are not using wep or wpa.....encryption off
Make sure that under the authentication tab that use 802.1x is unchecked.
(by default it is checked on SP1)
I assume you have the router set as a dhcp server and that your laptop
is set to receive a dyn address.

Now what is the problem, more info might help..

From the Chicago Public Library Wireless FAQ:

"Numerous problems have been reported with Windows XP Service Pack 1 that
are resolved by Service Pack 2."

I agree ;-)
That, and get the latest drivers for all of the pieces involved.
MR314 sounds like an old model number.
I traded up to a WGR614v4 because my old SMC didn't seem to like XP.
