After installing XP SP3 my wireless connection ony works when very close to
the router (eg 1 meter).

This is part of EAPOL.LOG when connection fails:

[2004] 00:11:34:890: WPA exchange not secured within 5 seconds in
AUTHENTICATED state
[2004] 00:11:34:890: EAPOL Failure: Fail Count = 3

When connection is ok (very close to the router)then same log contains:

I would upgrade the router firmware and NIC driver first. Or these posts may
help.

I did install the latest driver from Dell for INTEL PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Network Connection. If I now restart my PC it works immediatly! Thanks!!
Looks like I had a Dell driver before but it was overwritten by the XP SP3.
(I had the same icon before installation of SP3 and after reinstalling the
Dell driver. Looks like the Dell driver works better on my Dell PC).

Still having problems with my wireless when connected via VPN:
When I'm connected via Cisco VPN then the VPN is often diconnected. The
wireless is diconnected for a second and "Acquiring Network Adress" and that
is then leaving the wireless disconnected adterwards.
This seem to happen if other computer is also connected to the wireless (not
using VPN).
I didn't have this issue before install of latest driver from Dell for INTEL
PRO/Wireless 3945ABG or before installation of SP3.
I found and tried the following, but it didn't solve the issue:
"Click on your connection and click modify. Click on the transport tab. Make
sure all clients are using IP Sec over TCP. If it is IP Sec over UDP then one
connection will boot the other off."
