i'm trying to ma make a connection over an area from about 11 kilometers.
What kind of antenna do I need to make a good connection of 5 mbps ?
Who can give me an overview of antenna's and how much dbi do I need ?
I hove got a linksys router / bridge. Do I need a signal booster ?

Thanks for your reaction

Do you want point to point or do you want an 11km radius coverage?

11km p-p is fairly simple with line of sight, 2 x 15dBi grid antennas one
each end should be workable. You could go for 20dBi just to be safe.

11km radius is much more difficult, but maybe doable dependant on terrain.
In the middle an 18dBi slotted waveguide antenna to give horizontal
polarisation (it travels further). remote stations use a 24dBi grid antenna.
good LoS is crucial.

does .nl have the EU limit of 20 dBm of EIRP ? If so you'll be needing
+24 dB antenna

+20 EIRP
-110 free space loss (no objects in the way)
+24 antenna
-2 connections both ends (30cm cable)

= -68 dBm received
good for 11 Mb on most cards (check sensitivity spec)

you will also have t oturn down the output to comply with the rules,
ie if the card output is 15 dBm standard then needs to be -3 dBm with
above antenna
