wireless is connected can ping but wont browse

Hi,
i have a MN - 510 usb wireless adapter 80211.b connected
to a laptop. i can ping addresses using command prompt but
when i open IE, it wont let me browse nor will it let me
msn...any ideas?

Run Command Prompt and enter ipconfig. I bet you have a
169.x.x.x IP (these are local PC IP's). Run ipconfig /renew
to obtain LAN IP.

Another thing you can check is under IE/Tools/Options, on
the Connetions tab, check that LAN is enabled.

Which OS are you using on the computer that can ping, but can't browse?

If you can ping external addresses then try another
browser. Try Mozilla, Firefox or any other browser. If
that works then IE is just not set up right (you might
need to make an internet connection with the IE wizard to
lay out IE's settings properly).
If you like Firefox (www.mozilla.org), and there's a lot
to like, you don't need IE. Anyway, for IE look in help,
set up an internet connection or something like that. MS
likes wizards. It keeps their tech support in business.
