Wireless Card and Ethernet Adapters

O mighty Windows 98 gurus,
I have been trying to get my Netgear Wireless card to work,
and cannot figure it out. I think that I have isolated it
to an Ethernet Adapter -- when I run WINIPCFG after
installation, there is nothing in the drop-down menu for my
Netgear device.
But when I am using my Netgear 10/100 Ethernet card and a
wire directly into the router, the device does show up in
the drop down.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice.
I know the router is working - the MAC can get on fine.
And I configure the Wireless card, and it can see the
router and "go green." They just cannot share data.
Can anyone please help?
Thanks,
May
