Wireless Bridge - Wep Only?

I currently have a Netgear WGE101 bridge which is WEP only. I was looking
at the WG602 Wireless Access Point
http://www.netgear.com/products/details/WG602.php which had WPA-SK
encryption. When it arrived from Amazon, I plugged it in, turned on
Wireless Bridge mode to only be told it would only work with WEP encryption!
The firmware on it seems to be later than the one on Netgears site (1.0.6)

Why is this? Is this likely to be addressed with a future firmware update,
or is there some technical reason why WPA-SK won't work as a bridge. I feel
like I have just wasted my money and I am not sure if Amazon will accept it
as a return.

I can't help with the technical question but Amazon are about the only
online re-seller who take their responsibilities to customers
seriously. Check how it is described on Amazon's site and in the
confirmation emails they sent you. If it's not as described they are
obliged to refund you in full - and if you're right they will.

I think you can even 'phone them which is pretty unusual nowadays.

I believe that Bridging not working with WPA is due to conflicts in the way
they work as opposed to a vendor not writing their firmware properly. It's
something to do with WPA changing/encrypting parts of the transmission that
Bridging mode needs to transmit the traffic, if I remember correctly.
