Wireless Bridge setup.

I have been doing some research and I think I am ready to extend my
wireless network across the street. I would like to run the scenario
by everyone for approval. I currently have a connection to the
Internet (Cisco 804) and static (routable) IP's for my internal hosts.
My current wireless network consists of a WAP11 in AP mode connected
via Ethernet to my router. I use routable static IP's internally (no
NAT). I am planning on adding another WAP11 in bridged mode connected
via Ethernet which would then connect to a third WAP11 in bridged mode
about 400 ft away. I will most likely be using some sort of external
antenna for the bridges. At the remote side I would then connect a
fourth WAP11 via a crossover cable so that the clients could connect
wirelessly. So basically I would just be using the WAP11's to bridge
the remote wireless network to my LAN. I assume that I would use a
different SSID on the Bridged AP's and the remote AP. I only have a
limited number of IP's so I don't think that I need to assign IP's
within my LAN range to the bridges or the fourth remote AP. My current
AP is not assigned a valid IP and all works fine. Am I missing
anything.

Thanks,

Lonnie

Seems a little complicated to me. I'm doing the same thing with 2 wap11s.
One in AP mode and the distant one in repeater mode.

Not all the WAP11's support repeater mode: I know it's not available in Ver
2.2 or lower.

HTH.

Are you using external antenna's to connect the WAP11's? If so how far
apart are the devices? What version of the firmware are you using?
Some users have mentioned that not all WAP11's support repeater mode.

No outside antennas. WapI is in the space obove my garage sending signal
appr 300ft to WapII in an outbuilding that has line of site to dad-in-laws
house(another300+ft). Using 2.6 version of the firmware.

I may have to try the repeater avenue first.

Thanks,

Lonnie
