Newbie here when it comes to wireless networking stuff. Been searching through this
newsgroup and the Internet for an answer to my problem/question and so far no luck. I
have a LAN upstairs in the house with a wired router and DSL modem. I also have a
separate LAN in the basement and there is no physical way to connect the two thus I am
looking into a wireless solution. From what I can understand, the simplest solution would
be to get a couple of access points and configure them as bridges so both LANs appear
connected. However if I am going wireless I'd like to have the ability to have a PDA and
laptop connect wirelessly too. Any ideas on how to do this without spending a fortune or
converting over all PCs downstairs to wireless? The ideal solution would plug into a
router upstairs and plug into a hub downstairs. I am still waiting for a response to my
e-mail to D-Link as I was thinking on using a couple of 900+ or 2000AP. Can you have only
2 wireless units and bridge together 2 LANs and still let wireless devices connect too?
Please post reply here, e-mail not legit.
TIA.
