Hi

A friend of mine on blueyonder has just purchased from ebay a
blueyonder wireless pack. It comes with a netgear MR814v2ts and a
MA111 USB dongle.

Hes installed it on his laptop and plugged his main computer into it
but so far theres been no internet on it.

When the desktop computer is plugged it the network symbol on the
bottom right shows limited connectively.

Also I can't get into the router setting using 192.168.0.1.

Any ideas on whats going on?

Thanks.

Rich

Could be http://192.168.1.1 linksys ones have that adress, dunno about
netgear.

You'll need to hook it up via LAN cable to get full connectivity setup
through the router's utility!

Turn security off for now (WEP/WPA) until you have th basic interinet access
and/or file-sharing sorted out.

I have just got the Netgear MR814v2 and had a few problems at the first
attempt setting it up. if you follow the instructions on the CD to the
letter it is fairy straightforward, but set it up using the LAN cable
first. The IP for the Netgear is http://192.168.0.1 and the IP in my case
for LAN connected modem is http://192.168.1.1

I had to do a couple of hard resets before I got it right! Don't try and set
the IP addresses up manually that really seemed to screw it up! mind you,
that wasn't helped by a BT support gentleman telling me to set all my IP
addresses manually? to check my broadband connection.

It is quite scary how many hours were wasted before I went back to basics
and reset everything and started again. Now all I need is my broadband back
and I will really see how it works!!
