wireless base Station MN-500

i just got a wireless base Station MN-500 trying connect
my laptop wireless and my xbox my notebook have a network
card and works fine the problem that i'm having is the
wired connection to my main computer when i connect the
cable from the base station on my computer it keeps saying
that it's unplugged and the orange light at the back of
the computer is flashing now even with all that my xbox
and laptop still have connection..i'm running Windows
Xp.SP2

maybe get another cable and plug it into and see if you
have bad cable if not maybe bad NIC if not try using
better syntax so we can really see what is going on wiht
your laptop and desktop and xbox and base station and
whatever esle you have plugged to this mess of things you
are talking about.
