Trying to install this Microsoft adapter so that I can
use the internet on my second computer, but the setup is
asking for a file that's only found on a Windows 98
second edition CD. I don't have that - mine's not second
edition. I need a file (and maybe even more than one??).
It's asking for inetmib1.dll
any suggestions where to find it? Thanks!

You need Windows 98 Second Edition installed on your computer to use this
hardware. Just putting in the Windows 98 Second Edition CD won't help.
