Thanks for the reply. I used the desktop to disable WEP on the router and
then disabled it on the notebook and restarted the notebook. I could ping
the router and had internet. Then I re-enabled WEP on the router and network
and it still worked. I don't undersand why but what the heck.
I would like to use wpa but I'm not sure the notebook supports it. At least
when I click Data Encription from the Properties window I only get Disable or
WEP as options. Is there some special way to enable WPA? This is a Gateway
notebook purchased in Dec 03 and maybe wpa wasn't available then.
