Wireless ad hoc computer to computer

Can anyone please explain how to get two computers to talk to each other
wireless ad hoc. windows help says you can do it, but doesnt help and explain
how to set it up, all i seem to do is hit brick walls. i have wireless
802.11b on both laptops, one running xp home, the other xp pro.
