Hi,

Can I use host ap to set up an access point? If so can you please
point me to the documentation. I new to Linux trying to set up an
access point.

Yes.

I have done it with Netgear MA311.

Essentially, just compile hostap drivers (hostap_pci in my case), then
modprobe the drivers. iwconfig mode "Master" essid "youressid" etc.

You still will have to set up DHCP if that is what you want to use.
