Hi all
I have 2 pc's both running Win XP
I have wired them together on a network, all went well for a while.
Now I cannot access the internet or shared files on the second pc.
Nothing has changed it just stopped being connected to the network.
One of the network cards is Rhine? it came with the main pc. the other is a
realtek ethernet based card.
As i say the network has previously worked but now will not connect. When i
try to repair the connection on the second pc it says it cannot obtain ip
address( yet there is one there) and doing the same on the main puter it
just freezes when trying to obtain ip addy

Any ideas??

treb

Set up lan static IP for one or both PC. If you have dynamic IP, it will
change depending upon what comp you boot first.
Do you have sp2 installed on both computers?
If you have sp1 on any of the comp, try setting up network through ipx/spx
instaed of tcp/ip on that comp.
If you have sp2 see try http://www.careyholzman.com/netfixes.htm
