Although not highly technical, I was able to set up a wireless network in my
home using a Netgear router / 802.11 g card in a Win XP laptop. My "main"
computer - the one connected to the router - is running Win 98. This was
successful, and now I can wirelessly surf via the laptop.

However, I would like to use the attached printer to my host machine, and
this is where I'm running into problems. I enabled print sharing on Win 98
and I assigned both the XP machine and the 98 machine to the same workgroup.
As it stands now, WinXP can "see" the host in "my network places" but cannot
connect. The XP message is "the server cannot be found on the network"

Any suggestions?

you have to actually select the printer and share it (not just enable print
sharing) same as you would a harddrive

Sorry, I probably didn't include enough detail. I already clicked on file,
printer properties, share as "CANON". The remote PC - running XP - cannot
identify the host per the error message below. The problem is not limited to
printing, it also includes files (since the XP box can't "see" the W98 box).

Any other thoughts?

Disregard this post. Upon further review, I needed to add the XP's IP
Address to my firewall's trusted zone. The firewall was blocking remote
access attempts.

Thanks
