WinXP and Win98SE network

Hello All;
I am having a problem Networking a Win98 SE box to a WinXP Home box
with a DSL modem.
The Nics have been installed and the Win98 box was set up using the
WinXP Home cd, and told that this machine connects to the Internet
through the WinXP box. A user account was set up on the XP box to match
the user account on the 98 box. Both machines have internet access. I
can 'Ping' the IP addresses of either machine from each other, I can
'Ping' the computer name of the Win98 box from the WinXP box and I can
'Ping' the computer name of the XP box from the Win98 box. I have
created shares on each machine but neither machine can see the others
shares. I can not find the Win98 box from the WinXP box and vice versa.
Can someone point me to a good Win98 to WinXP networking guide? Does
MicroSoft have a Networking Trouble Shooting tool?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
