Hi
It works different with Different OS's. So, I'm guessing you deleted the
Winsock and Winsock2 registry keys? Would that be correct? You can
reinstall TCP\IP on Windows 2000 to get this back. Of course this is only
going to give you the Default providers that come with Windows and if any
3rd Party Layered Providers were listed, then those applications would need
to be reinstalled.

Also, if you haven't rebooted the system yet, you could copy them from
HKLM\System\ControlSet02\services\win* Then import them back.

If you rebooted and logged on the system the will not be there anymore.
If you are running Windows XP, you will have to find a working system and
copy them from it.

HTH!

That's not going to work, because the Winsock Catalog will be different on
different machines.

To reset to the factory defaults, see kb article 318584:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;318584

for complete steps on how to recover from accidentally zapping your Winsock
registry entries.
