Do a simple test. Can you net view \\serverIP? If not what's the system error?

Thanks for the suggestion.
I checked the browser status using "browstat status', which showed that it
was running and that I have 2 backup servers, one on an XP machine and the
other on the domain controller, which is where the master browser is
running. (Is it normal for browstat to list the broswer as both the master
and backup?)
Can you recommend anything else to check or do? Thanks,
