Hi,
I am reviewing everything and we currently have the node type set to ox8 for
the dhcp scope option.
Then I found an ms article saying not to use B type.

i am on vlans so I suspect the broadcaasts fail, what will be the best
option to use?

Your current node type is hybrid 0x8 which is preferred.
The workstation / member will query netbios name server
first before falling back to broadcasts.

Michael,
Thank you, so do I need to pass out the netbios over tcp to my clients via
dhcp? Does that need to be enabled or does it matter since I am using WINS?

You can use DHCP to specify a NetBIOS node type and
specify the name servers but that's it. NetBIOS is a local
setting which I believe is enabled by default.
