WINS migration to 2003

I tried moving the WINS service from an NT4 to 2003 box
following the directions in chapter 3 of the migration
guide, but when I tried to start WINS after copying the
files from the \systemroot\system32\wins folder on the NT4
server, I got a service specific error.

So I went ahead and set up the new 2003 server as a WINS
replication partner with the NT4 server, and I can see the
registrations on the 2003 server. Can I now switch the
primary WINS in our DHCP scope to point to the new server,
then in a week stop the WINS service on the NT4 server?
Will that provide the same end result for migration, or do
I need to move those files?

I belive so, as long as all the computers on the network come oneline and
register with the wins server by the time the week is up. I might keep the
old wins server as the secondary for a longer period of time, but that might
not be neccisary.

We also already had a secondary WINS server, which will
stay in as a replication partner to the new server, so we
should be covered.
