Wins between two sites?

Hi,

Recently I made an external trust between two forest. I was able to create
secondary zones between them both in DNS so that there is DNS name
resolution. Now I'm wondering if I can do that in WINS. Wins will be needed
because of a legacy DB program that both compnaies are using. Any ideas on
how to do this?

Thanks,

Make sure each server point itself as primary WINS and setup WINS
replication partner. Or this how to may help.

How to setup winsConfigure and manage WINS serve ... How to enable WINS
automatic partner configuration ... How to setup Primary and Secondary WINS
Server ...

You can have a WINS in each forest and make them "Partners" as Bob
suggested,...or you can just run one WINS Server for the whole thing. WINS
has no idea what a Domain or a Forest is,...all it has to be is reachable at
the TCP/IP level for all the machines that need to use it.

The only key to the whole thing is that all machines (all) have to use the
same WINS Server or the same "partnered set" of WINS Servers.

One side effect of this flat data structure is that you connot have
duplicate machine names anywhere in the complete network. DNS can handle
duplicate names if they are in different domains, but WINS can't.
