Winosck errors after updates!

Please help me!

I recently downloaded and installed some security updates/patches for
Windows 98 SE and after a reboot, the only Internet program that works
is IE. Everything else, mail, ftp, icq, telnet, etc..gives me a
winsock 10061 error!!

Everything was working fine this afternoon before i installed the
updates/patches.

can anyone help me out.

What programs are you using to protect yourself from viruses and
adware/spyware?

Thank you my friends..for your advice..i ran those fixes and nothing
worked. However when Iturned on the PC tonight everything was working
again.

I was suaing Spybot, Adware (with updated data files) and CWShredder.

I wonder if any of those could have caused the problem...
