I'm trying to get my WinME PC to share files on a home
network with a Mac (and use it's printer) and a Win2000
laptop. WinME can't see the other computers through the My
Netork Places. I can ping the other computers' IP addresses
though, and vice-a-versa.

I've tried using the ME networking wizard, using both the
other computers' names and IP addresses, and checking as
much as I know in the Control Panel->Network panel. All of
the computers can access the internet. (the three are
connected to a router, which is attached to a cable modem.
I've disabled firewalls on all machines (Zonealarm).

The WinME used to be able to see files and a printer on a
Win95 PC which is no longer in use (the Win95 would never
see the files on the WinME though).

I tried following Holzman's tips on
http://www.homenethelp.com/ but IPX/SPX does not show up in
msconfig. He suggests installing it but I don't have the
WinME CD (dealer installed OS) nor do I find the .inf files
in /Win/Options/Install

Thanks very much in advance.

This problem is solved. I discovered that the TCP/IP
Bindings did not have "Client for MS Networks" checked.
With this corrected the computers can now communicate.
(considerable difficulties synchronizing user names and
passwords, but got through that)

I'm not yet able to get printing to work, but will post
that problem as a separate thread if necessary.
