winipcfg cannot locate my wirelss ethernate adaptor?

I am problems in setting up my wireless adaptor (netgear)
with Win ME. I go through the procedure using the software
(for installing drivers, etc) - everything seems to work
fine but cannot connect to the Internet. When I use the
winipcfg the computers shows it has not picked up the
wireless adaptor.

Why am I not able to see this? ipconfig in dos command
shows all zero's.

AOL (dial up not btoadband) connects okay.

Are you seeing something like this?

I got that by clicking on the "More details" button, then right clicking on
the title bar; got a context menu with "Copy ^C" as a choice. Trimmed of
other connections for clarity. That is one of three adapters, and it has not
made a connection to the Internet. It won't until I manually invoke the DUN.

My best guess it that your wireless Ethernet adapter can't connect to the
WAP. If the drivers are showing up as correctly installed in System
Properties, and the adapter is showing up with the correct parameters in
Network Properties, it seems to be a hardware problem with the wireless
endpoints.

As someone pointed out, it's entirely possible you're just not connecting.
You might try -temporarily- turning off service.

It's also a good idea to go into Start: Control Panels: Networking: TCP/IP
(your adapter)->Properties, and double-check that IP and DNS
configurations are set to Dynamic/Obtain an IP address
automatically/whatever the verbiage is.
