I have a windows2000 server with Active directory,WINS and
DHCP running on it.
Windows2000 professional clients are connecting & working
fine.
But windows98 clients looses connectivity with windows2000
server if the PC is idle for a while. But when the mapped
drive network is clicked again,it gains back connectivity.

The 98 PC's restarts automatically sometimes.

I had tried to assign satic IP address for the PC,add
server IP address in the host.sam file. But still the same
problem.

Try disabling autodisconnect as shown in this article ... note that the fix
needs to be applied to the server, not to the client; you may have to reboot
the client, not the server, once applied.
