Hi, I have three win xp pro workstations that i'm ready to throw out the
window. I was able to join them to the domain, but i am not able to access
any network files on the server. It keeps asking me to log in(i even try log
in as administrator) and tells me i don't have access to the server.

It seems to happen to all the win xp pro workstations. (they all have sp2)
but our windows 98 machines are not affected.

Any idea's? Please Help!

Try:

1. Double check DNS configuration on server and clients, and check Event
Viewer for errors.

2. After joining a domain the default reboot option is to log onto the
local machine - make sure you are logging onto the domain.

3. The XP fast logon feature can prevent a user from being properly
authenticated - try turning it off. See:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;305293

I'm not familiar with DNS Configuration. Is there something specific i
should be looking for?

the workstations are logging on to the domain instead of the local computer.

Assuming this is an Active Directory domain - Win2k Server or Windows Server
2003 domain controller - run ipconfig /all on an XP machine and make sure
the DNS server address is the IP address of your domain controller.

On the domain controller go to Administrative Tools/DNS and expand the
forward lookup zone. Make sure that the subfolders exist. See:

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;310568

Also, on the Server hosting the shares try Administrative Tools/Local
Security Policy/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment. Make sure the XP
user account or some group of which it is a member is included in 'Access
this computer from the network' and that neither the account or its groups
are included in 'Deny access to this computer from the network.'
