Hello,

I tried to use the internet connection (dial up via ISDN) of my Windows XP
PC equipped with a DLink 520+ WLAN card from my iBook equipped with an
airport card from apple. I was doing this beforce with a normal network
connection and it worked fine with the internet connection sharing function
in Windows XP. I can't get it to work wireless though.

If my iBook creates the network, I can find it with my PC and establish a
connection. I can ping my Mac from my PC and my PC from my Mac. But this way
it seems I can't tell my PC to be the router to the internet. Should it work
this way or has the PC to create the network? It tried this, but the Mac
cannot establish a connection to the PC created network. The Mac sees the PC
net and if I try to connect the finder hangs and I have to reboot to do
normal work again.

Should I have bought an access point instead of a normal WLAN card for my PC
or can I get it to work with my cards?

Thank you for any help!

You mentioned that previously this was working with a normal (wired) network.
Now that you have a wireless card in your XP PC, you may want to delete the
connection sharing on your desktop and re-enable it by sharing your dial-up
connection. I am assuming that you are using an ad-hoc network in both the
Apple and the PC Wireless network.

You mean I should delete the wired connection? I did that and removed the
card from the pc (no slots left) but it does not work yet. Hm, I think you
meant something else?

Leif,

I was referring to the dial-up connection. This is the connection that you are
trying to share over the wireless network. It is possible that somehow this
sharing was bound to the wired network that you previously used. Now that you
are switching to a wireless network, you may need to re-bind this sharing.
Deleting the dial-up connection, re-creating it and sharing it again may do
just that. It's a shot in the dark ...
