I just installed a new Win2k DC on my network. All of my windows 2000
clients run the logon script just fine but the windows XP pro machines do
not. Anyone know what I am doing wrong.

TIA
Josh

Hi Josh,

Windows XP has more strict security settings. For us to be able to help you,
you will have to be more specific what this script does (e.g. it uses net
use to map printers) and what kind of permissions user have on these
computers (e.g. are users local administrators on the computer or not)...

Yes, it is a very simple net use script that maps a couple of drives to
diffrent servers. The computer that I am using now to test this is set up
so that the user is a local admin. If I run the script by browsing the
domain controller it works fine. just will not work when I log in.

thank you

I want to use logon scripts. I set them up in the users profile in AD.
This way the user can logon to many machines and still have access to there
mapped drives.

If you take the script (e.g. bat file) and manually run it on XP does it
execute and work?

Hi,

Can you try and set this scripts on group policy e.g. on domain or OU level?

If you need help with this:

To assign user logon scripts

Hi,

You have few options. You can either do this for every script, or create one
script e.g. called "start.bat" where other scripts are listed e.g.
\\server\share\script1.bat
\\server\share\script2.bat
....
...
..
