Hello,

I hope someone oout there might have an answer for me. I
have my 5 computers networked using a Linksys router. It
works just fine for the internet. I was trying to do
printer and file sharing. I have 4 computers with Windows
XP and one computer wiith Windows 98 second edition.

The computer with win98 on it is hooked to the satellite
dish (Direcway). In attempting to set up the file and
printer sharing the XP asked to record on a floppy that
would be used on the other computers to get them connected
to the internet.

When I downloaded he program into the Win98 it caused the
networking on the 98 to stop working which gives me no
internet on the other computers.

I need to staighten this out or uninsatll this program so
hopefully I can have the other computers on the internet.
I have a satellie connection with Direcwy.

There's no program to un-install. The Wizard configured the win98
computer's network settings according to the answers that you gave to
its questions. Re-configure the win98 computer's network settings to
be the way that they were before you ran the Wizard. If that computer
was acting as an Internet Connection Sharing host to share the
satellite connection with the other computers, re-install Internet
Connection Sharing.

Hello Steve and all,

Thank you for responding to my question.

A further issue is the internet connection sharing wizard
will not work. That was one of the first things I tried.
Also under accessories there is "Internet Gateway" which
when pressed says it needs Windows XP or higher.

Perhaps I need further assistance on how to reconfigure my
system to restore my connection. There is no uninstall for
the file "netsetup.exe" which is the file that came from
the WinXP computer, as far as I can see.

Cordially, Glenn S. Petrone :-)

Netsetup.exe didn't install anything that needs un-installing. It
just configured some network settings, and you can re-configure those
same settings manually.

I don't know why the ICS Wizard won't run, but you don't need to use
it. Configure ICS as shown here:
