i have a linksys wireless router set up next to my XP
desktop (which connects via ethernet to the router). My
laptop runs on W2000 and connects to the router via a
wireless adaptor. The router connects fine with both
machines and I can share internet access. However I can´t
figure out how to share or transfer files (e.g., music)
between both computers. How can I make my computers "see
the files in each other's drives and share the printer
(which is connected vis USB to my desktop). My laptop
connects to a W2000 network when I am at work.

Thanks in advance

Disable software firewalls and ICF. These block the
network. Set both computers to the same workgroup name (or
domain) -- don't use a mix of workgroup and domain
otherwise it won't work.

Select a folder and enable sharing. It should become
visible from the other computer. For the printer, select
the printer and enable sharing. On the other computer, add
the printer as a network printer (and not local).
