Does anyone know what the timeout or TTL is between the Preferred DNS server
and Alternate DNS server on the NIC on a Windows 2000 server, in other words,
how much time does the server query the Preferred DNS address before it drops
it and querys the Alternate DNS address for resolution?

Thanks for any help..

If I remember correctly, the timeout is 15 seconds. This link should
explain it better than I can
http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

And how to change the timeout (although modifcations are at your own risk)
