hey please help me with that someone called me to build a router for him
using windows server 2000, i was really tired and i wasnt sleep for about
less than two days, so i started to work by adding some static routes ,its
helped to be able to contact the machies whcih have the real ips but its
didnt allow the connection, now i think i was wrong cause i think i have to
install NAT to get it working right anyway again here it is the exact
scenario and please do your best to help, cause i have to finish this thing
today
The connection is a DSL router with IP: 217.52.245.33
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.224
and the Windows 2000 server have two lan cards one got the DSL router
connected to it, its interface use this IP: 217.52.245.34 (its a real IP)

and the Windows 2000 server have another lan which i want to distribute the
connection, and i want it use virtual IPs range started from 10.0.0.2/24 and
this interface will be connected to the switch which will have the client
machines connected to it.
what exactly i have to do, i just want to be sure i did that as fast as can.

You don't add "static routes" anywhere.
Undo everything you did and put the machine back to its original state.
Run "route /f" to clear the routing table and reboot to let it rebuild.
You just install RRAS on the box and setup RRAS as a NAT Server. I think
RRAS even uses a "Wizard" to walk you through it,...or just look in RRAS
built in Help,...there is not much to it.
